Australian Lawyers for Human Rights (ALHR) is hosting a panel event featuring some of Australia's leading minds in international development.

Tim Costello AO, the CEO of World Vision Australia; Andrew Hewett, the executive director of Oxfam Australia; and Dr Susan Harris Rimmer, the manager of advocacy and development practice at the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), will come together on 30 November to discuss current issues in international aid and development and the diverse ways in which individuals and organisations can make a difference.

Costello is one of Australia's leading voices on social justice issues and has been instrumental in keeping issues surrounding global poverty on the national agenda. He is also a leading figure in the Make Poverty History campaign.

Hewett joined Oxfam Australia in 1991, establishing the organisation's advocacy and campaigning program, managing the domestic program, and coordinating Oxfam International's response to the Timor-Leste crisis from 1999 to 2001.

As well as her role at ACFID, Harris Rimmer is a visiting fellow at the Centre for International Governance and Justice at the Australian National University. She is a previous president of ALHR and a board member of the UN Women National Committee Australia.
