Aspiring legal authors will have the chance to win $30,000 as a major legal publisher seeks to nurture more Australian legal writers.

In celebrating its 100 year anniversary, LexisNexis* has launched the LexisNexis Centenary Book Award for which budding authors are being asked to submit a book proposal and manuscript in the hope of taking home the grand prize.

Established in 1984, the Book Award aims to foster and recognise the best and brightest authors in legal publishing and seeks works that enable practitioners, academics or students to be better informed about an area of topical interest to legal professionals in Australia.

A shortlist of finalists for the Book Award will each receive a publishing contract with LexisNexis, as well as full editorial and marketing support and royalties from any sales. Based on the selection of published works, an external judging panel will determine the winner.
