Representatives from more than 40 Commonwealth countries will meet today (11 July) in Sydney to discuss law and justice issues including counter-terrorism, crime prevention, human rights and access to justice.
"The theme for the 2011 meeting is 'Fostering a just and secure Commonwealth' with the agenda including sessions on improving cyber-security across borders and the impact of climate change on security," said McClelland. "There will also be discussion on the development of a Commonwealth plan of action to combat human trafficking."
The meeting is considered an important precursor to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Perth this October.
