A VAST majority of Lawyers Weekly readers believe that a pay rise is the best means by which their employers can show them that they are appreciated.

A pay rise rates above a promotion and more contact with senior management as the most attractive pat on the back, according to the results of a new poll on Lawyers Weekly online.

Seventy-two per cent of readers voted that a pay rise was top on their list, while promotion came way down the list of the best way to show employees are appreciated, at just 16 per cent. More contact with management was voted by only 11 per cent of respondents as top of their list.
