QUEENSLAND ATTORNEY General and Minister for Justice Rod Welford last week announced the appointment of Brisbane solicitor Walter Tutt as a judge of the District Court.
Welford expressed his appreciation to Judge Quirk, who had provided lengthy and dedicated service as a judge of the District Court since 1983, he said.
“His replacement, Judge Tutt, will bring to the District Court a great deal of experience as one of our most highly regarded solicitors,” Welford said.
“Throughout his career, [Tutt] has appeared before all our courts and his extensive experience in areas such as workers compensation law, insurance law and industrial law will be an asset to the Court,” he said.
Tutt, a senior partner of law firm Tutt and Quinlan Solicitors since 1997, is a registered mediator and registered case appraiser.
