South Australia will officially recognise young lawyers for the first time with the creation of an award.
The Young Lawyers' Committee of the Law Society of South Australia has established a Young Lawyer Award to recognise outstanding young lawyers who make a contribution to the legal profession and the community.
The Law Society of SA defined a young lawyer as someone who is under 35 years of age or someone who has been admitted to practice for a period of less than five years.
The inaugural award will be presented at the 2011 Young Lawyers' Ball on 29 April. Nominations are open until 15 April, with the nomination form and award criteria available on the Law Society of SA website.
