A Lawyers Weekly poll has shown that a lack of trust and career progression have emerged as the main reasons why lawyers would leave a firm.

Over 240 lawyers responded to the poll, with 44 per cent stating that broken promises and career progression issues would be enough for them to leave their current job.

This was well ahead of poor management, the next highest category, which attracted 21 per cent of respondents.

Culture (19 percent) was the third leading reason why lawyers would leave a firm, with lack of flexibility (9 per cent) and a firm's lack of vision for the future (7 per cent) rounding out the survey.
