The Queensland legal and cricketing community are mourning the loss of Damien Mullins S.C, a prominent barrister and chairman of Queensland Cricket.
Mullins was also a sportsman. According to The Australian, he was "an elegant right-handed batsman" and captained the Easts, a Queensland cricket club, to a second grade premiership.
He graduated from the University of Queensland in 1978, was admitted as a barrister in 1984 and senior counsel in 2002.
Caiite Brewere, chairman of the Queensland Branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners released a statement today (21 September), sending her condolences to the family and friends of Mullins. "The legal profession has lost an incredible mind at such a young age," she said. "We honour Damien's contribution to succession law - it is immeasurable."
