In what is nothing short of a bloodthirsty challenge, Adelaide firm Kelly & Co has called upon the city's lawyers to spill their blood in the name of saving lives.

Scheduled for Tuesday (31 August), Kelly & Co lawyers will lead the charge at the Law Firm Blood Donation Challenge, complete with robes and wigs.

The firm initiated the challenge in order to help address the blood shortage over the winter months, when many regular donors are affected by colds and flus and are unable to donate.

Thirteen Adelaide law firms have already given 251 donations this winter as part of the challenge, with the Red Cross estimating the donations have saved over 750 lives.

A perpetual trophy, created especially for the challenge by the Jam Factory, is up for grabs for the winning firm, along with plenty of glory and prestige.

The wining firm will be the one to record the highest percentage of blood donors per number of staff.

If your firm has what it takes to bleed the other firms dry, get yourself to the Currie Street Blood Donor Centre, 55 Currie Street, Adelaide.
