Joe Ganim, one of the founders of independent Brisbane law firm HopgoodGanim, has announced his retirement from the firm's partnership.

He founded the firm in 1974 with Paul Hopgood, who currently heads the firm's family law practice. With more than 38 years' experience conducting complex corporate and commercial litigation in the Supreme Court of Queensland, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia, Ganim also served for a number of years as a member of the administration and resource division of the Litigation Reform Commission.
In addition to his legal career, Ganim is currently the chairman of Eumundi Group Limited and a director of Dark Blue Sea Limited, both ASX-listed companies. He is also currently a director of 14 active private companies.
His last day as a full-time partner of the firm will be 31 December.
