The Attorney-Generals of Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United State will make history today, when they all land in London for their first "Quintet" meeting.
According to Australian Attorney-General, Robert McClelland, the meeting will offer a chance for the Australian Government to discuss matters of mutual interest with allies. He said he would use the opportunity to show the Quintet an overview of Australia's Organised Crime Strategic Framework - including our national legislative response to organise crime. He will also discuss the need for joint efforts in dealing with money laundering and identity theft.
The two-day meeting will also involve McClelland conducting separate bilateral meetings with the Attorney-Generals, while also meeting with Lord Carlile of Berriew QC, the UK's independent reviewer of terrorism legislation.
