Advent Lawyers has signalled a bold confidence for the future, announcing the launch of a new Melbourne office.
The firm, established in Sydney mid 2008, has already stepped outside the norms of a traditional law firm on a number of levels. It operates on a secondment-based model - its lawyers working directly from clients' premises on a project-by-project or as-needs basis. Doing away with office overheads, and billing clients on a fixed-fee basis, the firm claims to be able to offer a cost-competitive alternative to traditional firms.
The firm has also recently added Telstra to its client base, because it was recently selected for the company's new legal panel. Teltra joins Macquarie Bank, Merrill Lynch, Goodman Fielder, Cisco and Brookfield Multiplex on the list of clients the firm advises.
