THE SUPREME Court has entered the digital age with aplomb, launching a new electronic practice court diary.
The change in procedure is aimed at increasing the efficiency and certainty of the Practice Court, to provide greater opportunities for matters to be heard and to assist the profession and litigants.
An Electronic Practice Court Diary is available for viewing on the Supreme Court website at www.supremecourt.vic.gov.au. The diary will be updated twice a day to reflect updates in application requests and available hours.
However, computers won’t be running the courts unchecked. In the event that an application is urgent and all appropriate Practice Court days are booked out in the diary, practitioners may still contact the associate to the judge sitting in Practice Court to arrange an appropriate hearing time.
