DLA Phillips Fox senior associate Fiona Gilbert has been named the South Australian Franchise Woman of the Year at the MYOB Franchise Council of Australia awards.

Gilbert, who is based in the firm's Adelaide office, has specialised in advising local, national and international clients for more than eight years.

As a committee member of the South Australian chapter of the Franchising Council of Australia (FCA) for the last two years, she has taken on a number of roles, including chairing the organising committee for the 2009 State Conference, speaking at a number of FCA functions and sitting in the Women in Franchising website subcommittee.

She will now progress to consideration for the national Women in Franchising Award, which will be announced in October.
