In line with the growing popularity of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), the University of New South Wales has launched two ADR-focused postgraduate programs.

The university has introduced a new Master of Dispute Resolution and has also introduced a dispute resolution specialty into its Master of Laws Program.

UNSW's Master of Dispute Resolution is the first of its kind within the "Group of Eight" university coalition, and it is designed to fill the gap in ADR education in Australia. It will be co-ordinated by Dr Rosemary Howell.

The launch of the programs coincides with the recent release of an ADR discussion paper by NSW Attorney-General John Hatzistergos, which seeks input into the best ways to encourage the delivery of ADR services.
