Attorney-General Robert McClelland has called for nominations to the newly established International Pro Bono Advisory Group.

The group aims to facilitate effective co-ordination between the private and non-government sector, existing in-country structures and Australian Government-funded projects that address international law and justice needs.

Membership of the group is expected to include the Attorney-General as chairperson, senior government representation, national peak bodies and individuals with a strong background in pro bono legal work.

The group will meet for the first time in Sydney on 1 July and is expected to meet about three times a year.

Nominations close on 16 June.
