EXPATRIATE LEGAL luminary Geoffrey Robertson QC, joint head of the noted human rights team Doughty Street Chambers, in London, has been appointed to the United Nations’ International Justice Council.
The IJC will also supervise the operation of the internal justice process, which was set up because the UN and its various arms are immune from prosecution in the courts of its member sovereign states.
The new system starts in January. Robertson, who has been appointed to the IJC for four years, will still practise out of Doughty Street.
