A legal service for juveniles, Youthlaw Online, was launched on Friday by Attorney-General Robert McClelland.
The initiative was funded by a $150,000 grant from the $10 million package to support community legal centres given out by the Government last year.
McClelland said that the service should give young people the confidence to seek assistance, even if they live some distance from a legal centre, and to use familiar technology.
"It is important that young people are able to access information to understand their legal rights and responsibilities. Early assistance can keep them out of court and lead to resolutions before issues escalate or become entrenched," he said.
