THE QUEENSLAND University of Technology (QUT) has formed a partnership with researcher Richard Jefferson and his open-access research institute, Cambia, to help simplify and improve the transparency of the international patent system.
QUT will work with Jefferson to further develop the Patent Lens, including extending it for the emerging patent systems of Asia, and in particular, China.
QUT Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Commercialisation) Professor Arun Sharma said that the partnership would add an exiting dimension to the university’s research portfolio.
“The partnership will complement QUT’s existing strengths in the are of open-access innovation and information technology,” he said.
