Since launching in Brisbane in 2017, Law Squared has worked out of co-working spaces in Brisbane, but it has now taken the massive step of branching out into their own office, cementing their position as a major NewLaw firm in the Brisbane legal market.

Law Squared founder Demetrio Zema said that after four years on the ground in Brisbane, he was thrilled to make the move for the eight-strong Brisbane team.

“Our Brisbane office plays a crucial part in the success of the overall business, so it’s great to finally have our own space that we can grow into and continue to solidify our place in the market here in Brisbane,” he said.

“We have been on the lookout for the right space that our team could thrive in for a number of months now, so it’s great to finally have the keys and for our team to begin to settle into the new place.”

This news follows the significant expansion of the Law Squared team earlier this year, when the firm welcomed six new hires for its Brisbane team. The firm added lawyers Judith Hishon (disputes and litigation), Esteban Gomez and Michael Cook (corporate) and Amanda Khoo and Simon Playford (commercial), as well as Matt Narayan as a business process analyst for its operation team.

In the space of 12 months, Law Squared has grown its Brisbane team from two lawyers to eight, with two new additions to be hired in the coming months.

“We have done a mountain of work over the last five years to break into the Brisbane legal market and we are now starting to reap the rewards of our hard work, and we are attracting not only highly skilled lawyers, but also exceptional people to our firm who are aligned with how we operate culturally,” Mr Zema added.

The firm is now focusing on its Melbourne office, with an announcement to be made in the coming weeks.

The announcement follows the news that fellow NewLaw firm Spintlaw has opened an office in the UK.

The international expansion will see Sprintlaw expand its offerings to England and Wales in a massive step for the start-up. Sprintlaw UK will offer a suite of fixed-fee legal packages and subscriptions under a legal consultancy model to customers in England and Wales.
