NOMINATIONS FOR the Australian Risk Management Awards 2005 will open in the coming weeks, with this year’s event expected to be bigger and better than 2004’s inaugural awards.

The 2005 event, which is sponsored by Aon, features five awards spanning individual and team initiatives taking in risk project work, use of technology, education and training and more. This year’s event is running independently but with the endorsement of several key industry bodies, including the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia and the Business Continuity Institute. The event’s theme is “celebrating diversity in modern risk management” and event organisers are hoping to attract nominations from across the gamut of risk, audit, compliance and governance.

The judging panel for this year’s event has also been finalised and includes leading practitioners, including the former Commonwealth Auditor General, academics and industry association chiefs.
