LexisNexis Australia has announced the introduction of five tax products to its catalogue.

The new products are to operate on a transactional basis, meaning that they focus on tax transactions rather than they section by section analysis of tax law itself.

Pip Hughes, director at LexisNexis, said that there was a growing call within the ranks of tax lawyers for a knowledge base that catered to certain needs within specialist needs within the industry. She also stated that the products were intended to cover both general and industry-specific tax topics with an insider view into the associated policy and technical issues.

“We see a growing need for an alternative to the generic, encyclopaedic tax information that’s been in the market for a long time.”

The publications include bi-monthly reports on the general status of tax law (primarily for tax accountants), launched at the end of February, a loose-leaf manual launched at the end of March and access to a corporate tax loose-leaf library, components of which are being launched until the end of April this year. LexisNexis is the Publisher of Lawyers Weekly.
