Middletons’ banking and finance division has been bolstered with the appointment of partner Adam Levine, who joined the firm in July.

Previously the head of Dibbs Abbott Stillmans banking, investment and securities practice, Levine specialises in corporate, acquisition and growth, mezzanine and project finance areas, with more than 10 years’ experience in Australia and the UK.

“[Levine’s] experience speaks for itself,” managing partner Nick Nichola said. “He brings global investment banking and international legal practice with an entrepreneurial approach fine tuned at CEO level. He is as astute with numbers as he is with the methodology of investment bankers, and prefers to take a commercial view rather than a straight legal view. He is results driven and commercially focussed, and his clients speak highly of, not just his legal advice, but his solutions.”

Since gaining his legal qualifications 12 years ago, Levine has worked in legal practice and investment banks, as well as serving as CEO of a large family business. Levine spent four years working with London magic circle firm Freshfields in their capital markets and derivatives group, and investment bank Schroders.

Levine returned from London in 1997 and joined Freehills as part of its project and structured finance team in Melbourne.

“Middletons is a progressive and dynamic law firm that fits well with my mindset and I look forward to continuing to offer my clients a range of unique commercial solutions,” Levine said.
