MELBOURNE FIRM Dibbs Abbott StillmanLawyers has taken on partners Julie Callea-Smyth and Andrew Fox, formerly of Russell Kennedy.

 
 

Along with six other ex-members of the Russell Kennedy banking and finance litigation team, the two partners will help their new firm grow the litigation and commercial areas of its banking and finance practice.

Fox is a partner in the dispute resolution and litigation team, with expertise in insolvency, commercial litigation, and banking and finance litigation. Together with Callea-Smyth, Fox is Melbourne’s relationship partner for a major Australian bank.

Fox heads Dibbs’ debt recovery team, giving advice on trustees and liquidators in various insolvency matters. He is also a regular presenter on issues such as the banking and finance sector, credit managers on banking and finance litigation, and insolvency issues.

Callea-Smyth practises in commercial litigation across all jurisdictions, with an emphasis on banking and finance. She has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, along with commercial litigation, including recovery of property, fraud detection and commercial strategic advice, corporations law, contractual arrangements and lease/tenancy disputes.
