DLA Piper Australia has acted for the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) on a $77 million eHealth deal.
The $467 million PCEHR project aims to develop an electronic health records system that will allow all Australians who choose to participate to see their health information when and where they need it.
The consortium includes Oracle and Orion Health, with Accenture's cloud computing partner, Telstra, to provide secure infrastructure service.
DLA Piper was engaged by DoHA to advise on the PCEHR project which involved conducting four major procurements and negotiating the resulting contracts.
The DLA Piper team was led by Canberra office managing partner Caroline Atkins, with assistance from senior associate Sean King.
Accenture in-house lawyers also advised on the transaction alongside Piper Alderman, which advised National E-health Transition Authority, a party to the Accenture contract.
