Allens Arthur Robinson has advised the New South Wales Government's primary transport delivery agency, Transport Construction Authority (TCA), on phase two of the construction of the $2 billion South West Rail Link project.
Phase two of the project involves the construction of about 11 kilometres of twin track electrified rail line from Glenfield to Leppington, two new passenger stations at Leppington and Edmondson Park, and a train stabling yard at Rossmore.
Allens advised on all aspects of the project's first phase and recently advised TCA on its phase two tender process and subsequent decision, announced on 7 December 2010, to award the phase two construction contract to Leighton Holdings Ltd subsidiary John Holland.
Work on the project will commence early this year and is expected to be completed in 2015.
Partner Leighton O'Brien led the Allens team which also comprised Nigel Papi, Paul Lalich, Joel Sturgeon, Matt Baillie and Larissa Chu.
"The project will be the catalyst for residential and commercial development in the south-west Sydney area and shows real foresight in putting key transport links in ahead of development of the community," said O'Brien.
