Freehills has announced it is acting for Lend Lease on the $2.5 billion redevelopment of Brisbane's iconic Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) Showgrounds.

The Freehills team is being led by partner Christopher Blue and 19 lawyers from across the practice are involved in the project.

"This project will safeguard the RNA Showgrounds for future generations and will rejuvenate the site to create an exciting cultural and social destination," said Blue.

According to Freehills, the project will inject billions of dollars into the Queensland economy and create around 2,000 jobs each year over the life of the redevelopment.

Stage one of the redevelopment will include a major upgrade, replacement of disused facilities, substantial investment in infrastructure for the public domain, and the development of 22 hectares for an inner-city, mixed-use space.
