Keypoint adds second lawyer in Perth
Keypoint Law has appointed a second lawyer in Perth to bolster its commercial offering across the state.
After expanding into Perth earlier this year, Keypoint has added a new senior commercial lawyer, Sophia Kailis, to its ranks in Western Australia.
Kailis joins from Perth-based litigation firm Pragma Lawyers, where she was a special counsel. She has expertise in business advisory, including directors’ duties, governance, contracts, share and asset transactions, intellectual property and technology, and commercial litigation.
She’s also an executive director at Hartwell Funds, a West Australian dispute financier, and the deputy chair of the Sussex Street Community Law Service, an independent not-for-profit community organisation based in Western Australia.
“I am delighted to join the team at Keypoint here in Perth, and look forward to working alongside a strong cohort of exceptional lawyers,” Kailis said.
This news comes after the addition of a commercial litigation consulting principal in Brisbane in June, as well as the appointment of a former GC and firm director as a consulting principal in late May and its recent appointments of an IP consulting principal in Melbourne in mid-March, a corporate and M&A consulting principal in Sydney in late January, and a property law consulting principal in early January.
CEO Warren Kalinko also spoke to Lawyers Weekly recently about the firm’s substantial growth in the Australian market over the last 10 years – and said Kailis’ appointment in Perth would further bolster that growth.
“We are so pleased to have Sophia joining Keypoint. She is an excellent senior lawyer with end-to-end experience in commercial disputes,” he said.
“Her joining further enhances the firm’s growing presence in Perth, adding to Keypoint’s full-service offering for our WA clients.”
