As the firm’s employment and safety team continues to expand, the appointment of Paul O’Halloran to lead the practice will help with ongoing strategic goals.

Managing partner Nick Crennan said Mr O’Halloran was an active thought leader, mentor and practitioner in the sector.

“Paul joined Colin Biggers & Paisley just over five years ago and has built a strong practice, particularly in the education sector. He regularly appears in the media discussing schools and sensitive issues regarding employee misconduct and his passion and expertise in the sector make him a formidable leader that will inspire and drive excellence,” he said.

“Paul is well placed to lead the team in growing our presence in the aged care and education sectors, and to be recognised for our excellence in employment, and work health and safety.”

With a number of leadership positions under his belt to date, including executive management positions in the Federal and Supreme Court of Victoria, Mr O’Halloran said he was grateful for the opportunity to lead and shape the direction of the team.

“I am pleased to have this opportunity to work with and grow our capabilities in our national safety and employment team, with a keen focus on training and developing our highly competent lawyers and increasing our presence in the market by doing high quality work for our clients in industries such as health, aged care, education, faith-based, labour hire, local councils, logistics and insurance,” he said.

“As our clients learn to live with the ongoing implications of the pandemic and regulatory change, never has there been a greater time to focus on advice to clients centered around re-building and maintaining harmonious workplace relations, in a context where our industrial relations framework is set to undergo a range of reforms in the near future. It’s the perfect time to be an employment lawyer.”
