Nicholas Antonas has joined the independent law firm as its newest special counsel, bringing with him extensive experience, both in Australia and in London.

Mr Antonas is an internationally recognised energy and resources lawyer and joins the firm after over seven years at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where he was counsel in the firm’s London office. He represents international energy and resources companies and investment funds across a wide variety of complex transactions, including asset and share level acquisitions and divestments, farm-ins/farm-outs, joint ventures, project development, special situations and restructurings.

JWS managing partner Jeremy Davis said the firm was delighted to have Mr Antonas on board.

“Our energy and resources practice is one of the largest and most experienced in Australia. Nicholas’ expertise will complement the team and provide increased capabilities to support our clients throughout their energy related investments,” he said.

“Nicholas also brings a strong network of connections with international funds and corporates active in the Australian market.”
