BigLaw brings on environment and planning expert
A partner with a decade of experience as a top lawyer in environment and planning has joined a BigLaw firm’s real estate practice in Brisbane.
From early February, Kathryn Pacey jumped over from Clayton Utz, where she was national practice group leader of the environment and planning team. She is now at Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) as its newest partner in the real estate practice.
HSF managing partner in real estate for Asia and Australia David Sinn commented: “We are delighted to have Kathryn join the team. She is highly respected, having advised on Queensland’s most significant infrastructure projects in the last 20 years, including transport, mining, water, energy and community infrastructure.”
Mr Sinn added that Ms Pacey is a stand-out in regards to her projects and regulatory advisory work, and her ability to run matters “sets her apart in the market”. This “uniquely positions her” to advise clients on the entire project life cycle.
“Kathryn complements our existing team of experts and will collaborate across the Brisbane office and with our national resources and mining, projects/infrastructure and real estate groups as they help clients to navigate increasingly complex environment and planning matters,” Mr Sinn said.
