Corrs poaches more of Allen & Overy’s senior lawyers
Just weeks after Allen & Overy’s head of debts and projects made the move over to Corrs Chambers Westgarth, two more senior partners made the same jump.

Allen & Overy’s partners James Abbott and Simon Huxley will follow Adam Stapledon over to Corrs Chambers Westgarth, the latter announced.
“Along with Adam, they are widely recognised as leaders in the market and will add substantial value to our banking, finance and projects capabilities.”
Mr Abbott has experience on a wide range of project, corporate and acquisition financing, including in the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors and in relation to the syndicated, ECA and multi-source debt financing of major projects.
Specialising in construction and commercial matters within the infrastructure, energy and resources sectors, Mr Huxley has extensive experience leading complex finance and M&A transactions. He often advises sponsors, project companies and financiers on all aspects of project development and in project finance.
Corrs’ other A&O hire, Mr Stapledon, will bring more than two decades of experience to his role, including in project and acquisition finance, infrastructure and energy.
Commenting on Mr Stapeldon’s appointment, Mr McLaren said: “We are delighted Adam will be joining Corrs, adding further strength to our expanding banking and finance practice. Adam is very well regarded in the market and will provide significant value to the firm and to our clients.”
