Kate Malone has been appointed to the top job, with her role to come into effect from 1 November 2021. This will follow Mr Butterworth’s agreed departure date of 29 October.

Ms Malone brings an extensive background in finance to the CFO role, having served as executive general manager – transformation and change at Latitude Financial prior to joining Slater & Gordon in 2019.

We are delighted that Kate has accepted the role of CFO and that she will be able to work with Scott to transition into the role over the next month, said Slater & Gordon CEO John Somerville.

Kate’s in-depth knowledge and understanding of all of our business, coupled with her finance and commercial experience, will be an enormous asset to the Company and will support our business as we continue to deliver on our strategy.

The appointment of Ms Malone comes after the ASX-listed firm confirmed the resignation of Mr Butterworth in early August.

“On behalf of the board and management at Slater & Gordon, I would like to thank Scott for his significant contribution to the transformation of the company and in building the firm of the future,” Mr Somerville said at the time.

“We wish him well in the next stage of his career.”
