G+T grows Sydney partnership

Gilbert + Tobin has recruited a new partner who brings over two decades’ experience to the firm.

Karen Evans-Cullen has officially joined Gilbert + Tobins partnership. Her new role sees her based in the firm’s corporate advisory/M&A practice in Sydney.

Ms Evans-Cullens, who holds over 20 years’ experience as a strategic mergers and acquisitions and corporate advisory lawyer, joins Gilbert + Tobin from PwC where she was head of corporate (legal). Prior to PwC, she was a partner at Clayton Utz

Throughout her career, Ms Evans-Cullens has acted in a number of Australia’s significant corporate transactions across a broad range of industry sectors and is highly regarded for her ability to deliver innovative solutions to achieve her clients’ objectives, a statement from Gilbert + Tobin explained, adding that Ms Evans-Cullens also brings a wealth of experience in advising boards and management on corporate governance issues.

“We are thrilled to have Karen join our Corporate/M&A practice,” co-heads of corporate advisory Costas Condoleon and Neil Pathak said.

“Karen’s deep experience and client connectivity, commitment to excellence and outstanding credentials will add to our Corporate/M+A team, which focuses on advising clients on their most significant transactions.”

Emma Musgrave (née Ryan) is the managing editor, professional services at Momentum Media.

Emma has worked for Momentum Media since 2015, including five years spent as the editor of the company's legal brand - Lawyers Weekly. Throughout her time at Momentum, she has been responsible for breaking some of the biggest stories in corporate Australia. In addition, she has produced exclusive multimedia and event content related to the company's respective brands and audiences. 

Prior to joining Momentum Media, Emma worked in breakfast radio, delivering news to the Central West region of NSW, before taking on a radio journalist role at Southern Cross Austereo, based in Townsville, North Queensland.

She holds a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) degree from Charles Sturt University.
