Environment and planning partner joins BigLaw firm
A global firm has appointed a new environment and planning partner to its Melbourne office, where he will bolster its efforts to improve relationships.
With qualifications in law and town planning, Nick Sutton will apply his expertise to the Norton Rose Fulbright (NRF) environment and planning team. In this new role, Mr Sutton will have a focus on major projects.
“The addition of Nick, with his reputation for excellent client service and long history working in Victoria, will add to our firm’s standing in the market across environment and planning, government and infrastructure work.”
Mr Sutton has extensive experience assisting corporate and developer clients with dispute resolution and complex planning and environment issues. He is accredited with the Law Institute of Victoria and most recently spent a decade as director of the law firm Planning & Property Partners.
Mr Sutton’s appointment will bolster NRF’s national environment and planning team’s efforts to grow new and existing relationships with global and domestic corporate and government clients. He will advise on major projects, alongside obtaining city and regional planning and environment approvals.
Mr Sutton said he is delighted to be joining the firm and its “highly respected environment and planning team”.
“It is clear that there is a huge amount to be done to transform Australian cities and regional centres. My experience working on projects from inception to completion will translate well to the firm’s extensive mix of corporate and government clients,” Mr Sutton said.
