Anthony Lloyd has been welcomed to DLA Pipers partnership, based in Sydney, NSW.

Mr Lloyd joins from MinterEllison where he headed up the firm’s technology law business unit. During his team at Minters he also chaired the technology law and technology consulting synergies board.

Throughout his career, Mr Lloyd has specialised in a broad range of technology, media and communications projects across the local, Asia, US and European markets. His clientele includes Singtel Optus, AIA, Aon, Westpac, Qantas, AMP, Suncorp, Allianz, Manulife, Ausgrid and Cathay Pacific.

“Technology is one of the firm’s fastest growing global sectors and an area of particular focus for us, said DLA Piper managing partner in Australia, Amber Matthews.

“Overwhelmingly embraced by his clients for his holistic and strategic approach, Anthony’s appointment will play an instrumental role in strengthening our technology office both in Australia and across the world.”

DLA Piper’s head of intellectual property and technology in Australia, Tim Lyons, echoed a similar sentiment.

“Our technology and commercial team is at the heart of the intellectual property and technology practice in Australia, he said.

“Attracting a partner of Anthony’s calibre to the firm is a significant coup and testament to the significant strides we have made, not only with our global technology offering, but also towards becoming Australia’s leading global law firm.”

Kit Burden, DLA Piper’s technology sector global co-chair added: “Anthony’s addition to our Global Technology Sector enriches our global expertise to deliver exceptional services and innovative tools to our clients – both globally and locally. I am delighted to welcome Anthony to our international team.”
