A&O elevates Sydney lawyer in latest global promo round
International law firm Allen & Overy has promoted 30 of its staff to the partnership, including a Sydney-based ICM expert.

Minesh Patel is the latest Aussie to be promoted to A&O’s global ranks. The promotion comes into effect officially from 1 May.
As per A&O’s website, Mr Patel has acted for issuers and lead managers on the establishment and updates of medium-term note and covered bond programmes throughout his career. He has also advised on the establishment of secured debt programmes for major infrastructure assets, Reg S stand-alone bond issuances, bank regulatory capital instruments, corporate hybrids and liability management exercises.
Mr Patel joins 29 others in the latest promotions round by A&O, with the other elevations spanning across the firm’s offices located in Istanbul, London, Abu Dhabi, Paris, Madrid, Hong Kong, New York, Hamburg, Paris, Singapore, Frankfurt, Dubai, Luxembourg, Milan, Bratislava and Amsterdam. The promotions cover A&O’s six main practice areas, with 11 in the banking group, eight in corporate, five in litigation, four in ICM, one in real estate and one in tax.
According to a statement from A&O, one-third of the 30 new partners are women.
