JWS hires special counsel from NRF as new partner
National firm Johnson Winter & Slattery has brought across a dispute resolution professional for its Melbourne office from global firm Norton Rose Fulbright.
James Love has joined JWS as a partner, effective this week, for the firm’s Melbourne-based dispute resolution practice group.
He joins JWS from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was a special counsel and advised on disputes and investigations including for the ACCC and ASIC. Prior to his time at NRF, he worked as a policy adviser with the Victorian government.
Speaking about the appointment, JWS managing partner Peter Slattery said that Mr Love’s expertise makes him a “great fit” for the national firm.
“Regulatory enforcement has been a significant driver in the growth of Australian litigation. We have built a strong reputation in this space, most recently advising on many of the most notable regulatory investigations and class actions coming out of the Hayne Royal Commission,” he said.
“James is a highly talented litigator who is well positioned to help us meet the growing demand for services in this area.”
