Effective from the beginning of this month, Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) promoted 49 lawyers to the role of senior associate. These advancements were awarded to lawyers in HSF’s Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth offices.

Australian executive partner Andrew Pike welcomed the promotions: “At HSF, we take great pride in developing our people and providing them with exceptional opportunities to progress in their careers. In these challenging times, we believe it’s just as important as ever to recognise and reward the hard work and growth of our talented people.”

Mr Pike said the promotions — which are in addition to the 26 appointments to the HSF global partnership in May — are a testament to their “significant legal and commercial” experiences, commitment to clients and positive contribution to colleagues.

“I look forward to watching them step up in their new roles as they continue to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients and the firm,” Mr Pike said.

More than 50 per cent of the 49 new senior associates are women, reflecting on HSF’s ongoing focus on diversity and inclusion and commitment to attracting female talent.
