Corrs brings in 2 partners
Australian independent law firm, Corrs Chambers Westgarth has appointed two new partners to its Melbourne office.
Infrastructure and energy specialist Anthony Arrow will join the firm’s projects practice, while indirect tax specialist Jennee Chan will join Corrs’ tax practice.
Coming from Pinsent Masons, Mr Arrow has 19 years’ experience, specialising in infrastructure and construction law with particular experience in major infrastructure and building projects as well as renewable energy projects.
Corrs head of projects, Andrew Stephenson, added: “Anthony is a highly regarded and extremely experienced front-end construction, infrastructure and energy lawyer. He has more than two decades of experience [in] advising governments, sponsors, developers and contractors across the full suite of procurement models, and is a strong addition to our team.”
Senior tax counsel Ms Chan is known for her stamp duty and GST expertise and was part of Allens’ tax practice in business-critical tax litigation, transfer pricing, audits, indirect taxes, anti-avoidance provisions and the tax matters arising from M&A.
Ms Chan’s broad indirect tax practice includes advising on structuring transactions as well as due diligence exercises. Her clients include a wide range of industries including mining and resources, government, banking, funds management, property, health and aged care, and consumer goods.
Ms Chan’s experience includes assisting clients in their dealings with Papua New Guinea’s Internal Revenue Commission, and spending more than two years in London advising on UK VAT issues.
Corrs head of tax, Rhys Jewell, noted: “Jennee brings significant experience and expertise in stamp duty, particularly in relation to property and infrastructure, M&A, and energy and natural resources matters across all jurisdictions.”
Both Mr Arrow and Ms Chan will be based in Melbourne.
