Interactivity a key point of difference

Speaking to Lawyers Weekly as part of the CPD focus fortnight, LawCPD director Sarah Mateljan said this year the education provider has expanded and improved its range of courses, in addition to offering several new interactive video courses.

“Our online courses are truly interactive and go far beyond the usual video or audio recordings offered by most CPD providers,” Ms Mateljan said.

“This means most lawyers can earn unlimited CPD points each year by completing our online courses – compared to recordings which are capped at five points per year in most states.

Feedback so far has been widely positive, according to Ms Mateljan.

“We have received fantastic feedback on our new website from lawyers – particularly how easy it is to navigate and how user-friendly the new site is,” she noted.

“Each year we also continue to receive excellent feedback on our online courses.

“Lawyers consistently comment on how informative, engaging and well-presented our courses are, as well as how convenient they find it being able to learn online when it suits them.”

As far as what’s next, Ms Mateljan said the team is in the process of launching an enhanced version of its personalised learner dashboard later this year.

This, she said, “will make it easier than ever for lawyers to track their CPD compliance online”.

“We will also be launching a new and improved course format which will take our interactive online courses to a whole new level,” she said.

Ms Mateljan also spoke to Lawyers Weekly about how this time of year presents a good opportunity for lawyers to upskill themselves on the recent threats that have impacted Australian businesses. In addition, she spoke about how lawyers can avoid a last-minute scramble to obtain their CPD points.

The CPD deadline is on 31 March 2020.
