Kerri Balaba who joined Bennett & Philp in 2018, brings a wealth of experience specialising in property development and conveyancing. Her experience in property law matters has enabled her to manage a high volume of conveyancing matters independently. She also has a background in residential and commercial property law, with a growing focus on planning and development along with wills and estate planning and administration.

Managing director Lance Pollard said Ms Balaba’s evolution as a legal professional since joining the firm has been rapid.

“Kerri has extensive residential, commercial and industrial real estate experience. Kerri is a trusted adviser to her clients, and her success at Bennett & Philp has been defined by her attitude and approach to practising the law, said Mr Pollard.

“Kerri has played a major role in growing the real estate and property practice over the last 18 months and her promotion to associate reflects her contribution to the firm. We are looking forward to Kerri’s ongoing success within the firm and her continuing to advance her legal career with us.”

Ms Balaba completed her undergraduate studies at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), graduating with a bachelor of laws and bachelor of creative industries, majoring in music. She also completed her graduate diploma in legal practice at QUT and is also a member of the Queensland Law Society.

In 2015, she was admitted as certified practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland and entered the High Court Register of Practitioners in 2018.

In her new role, Ms Balaba will also work closely with director Bill Purcell, assisting with residential and commercial conveyancing matters as well as planning and environment issues relating to large and small developments, and community title schemes.

“I have been working within the legal industry for almost five years now and, over that time, I have worked incredibly hard to get the best results for my clients in the areas of residential and commercial conveyancing, subdivisions, community title schemes and disputes,” Ms Balaba said.

“I have been incredibly lucky throughout my career, having had the opportunity to be mentored by one of Brisbane’s best real estate and property lawyers, Bill Purcell. Since joining Bennett & Philp in early 2018, I have found the team to be supportive and instrumental in my continued development as a legal professional.
