6 new appointments at Allens
Six new appointments have been announced by Allens, effective at the start of the new year.
Four are appointed in the Allens’ disputes and investigations team while two are promoted in Allens’ intellectual property team and patents & trademark team.
Allens’ disputes and investigation team will welcome four new promotions.
Sophie Allchurch started at Allens five years ago with experience in funds, superannuation and wealth before specialising in dispute and investigations. She previously advised tech firm Bulletproof on their merger.
Tom Kavanagh was a former maths teacher before embarking in the legal profession as a graduate in Allens specialising in litigation and dispute resolution.
Guy Stuckey-Clarke started his legal career at Olswang in London, UK. He joined Allens in 2016 and he previously advised Villa World on the acquisition of Avid.
Jessica Alley joined Allens in 2018 in Allens’ restructuring and insolvency team at the Melbourne office.
Ms Alley predominantly advises financiers, directors and insolvency practitioners in relation to corporate insolvencies and restructuring matters.
She has also acted in numerous commercial litigation proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria, Supreme Court of NSW, Federal Court of Australia and international arbitrations.
Promoted to senior associate in Allens’ IP and patent and trademark teams respectively is Emma Gorrie who joined Allens in 2015 as a graduate and then began her career in intellectual property as an associate in 2017. She brings more than five years of experience specialising in intellectual property, trademark and patents.
Cici Cui is also promoted to senior associate in the patent and trademark team. A registered Trans-Tasman patent attorney, Ms Cui has a diverse experience across a wide range of technology areas including ICT, electronics, micro-optical devices, camera lenses and video processing systems, security documents such as banknotes and credit cards, banknote security features, printing systems and medical devices.
Ms Cui also has extensive experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, both locally and overseas. She frequently works on Australian, New Zealand, and European Patent Office patent opposition proceedings, European Patent Office appeals, and US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) appeals.
