Firm: Gilbert + Tobin (MoneyMe)

Deal: MoneyMe has made an initial public offering and listing on the ASX.

Value: The offer raised $45 million and at the IPO listing price gives MoneyMe a market capitalisation of approximately $210 million.

Area: Corporate

Key players: G+T corporate advisory partners Costas Condoleon and Adam D’Andreti led the transaction, with assistance from advisory lawyers Wes Bainbridge, Syavie Ghamry and Nicholas Chan.

The corporate advisory team was supported by lawyers across a number of practice groups, including G+T’s fintech practice which was led by partner Peter Reeves with the support of lawyers Georgina Willcock and Catherine Collins.

Deal significance: MoneyMe is described by G+T as a digital consumer credit business that delivers an innovative loan offering to tech-savvy consumers by leveraging its technology platform and big data analytics.

Founded in 2013, MoneyMe has originated more than $340 million in loans through its risk-based lending platform, a statement from the firm noted.

“We are delighted to have helped MoneyMe achieve such a significant milestone. It is great to see such strong support for an innovative and founder-led business joining the ASX boards, in an IPO market which has been challenging at times,” lead partners Mr Condoleon and Mr D’Andreti, said.

“We are extremely proud to have steered MoneyMe through the IPO process and helped them achieve this critical step that puts them in a great position to pursue their next phase of growth.”
