Pinsent Masons bolsters Aussie partnership
The international law firm has welcomed two to its local partnership, as it looks to enhance its infrastructure and energy practice.
Mark Waddell and James Morgan-Payler have been confirmed as the latest partners to join Pinsent Masons. They join from global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright.
Sydney-based Mr Waddell, who holds 20 years’ experience specialising in complex infrastructure matters, has worked up a steady clientele list, including construction contractors, infrastructure owners, operators and investors.
Further, Mr Waddell has acted on some of China’s largest infrastructure projects, having previously been based in Beijing and Hong Kong for five years, the firm’s statement said.
Meanwhile, Melbourne-based Mr Morgan-Payler brings 18 years’ experience to his new role at Pinsent Masons, having previously held the role of head of the construction and engineering team at NRF.
Throughout his career, Mr Morgan-Payler has maintained an avid focus on the development of major infrastructure and PPP projects which extend across the power sector, ports, transport, mining, and commercial and residential developments.
“The addition of James and Mark to the team further secures our position in the market and is a testament to our reputable work,” said Matt Croagh, head of Pinsent Masons Australia.
“This expansion strengthens our service offering in the Asia-Pacific region, and the seamless way we work with other jurisdictions internationally, particularly China, where Mark has extensive experience.
“We’re building greater resilience to better anticipate, and meet, the needs of our clients.”
