Firm: Squire Patton Boggs (Ricardo plc)

Deal: Ricardo plc has acquired PLC Consulting Pty Ltd.

Value: Undisclosed

Area: M&A

Key players: The Squire Patton Boggs team was led by Australia managing partner Campbell Davidson, with assistance from senior associates Clive Lee
and Michael Muratore, and associate Tom McCann.

Deal significance: Ricardo plc is described as a multi-industry consultancy for engineering, technology, product innovation and strategy.

Meanwhile, PLC Consulting provides technical advisory services across the full life cycle of infrastructure and environmental planning projects and complements the existing energy and environmental capabilities of Ricardo plc, according to a statement from Squire Patton Boggs.

The acquisition follows two months after Ricardo plc’s acquisition of Sydney and Melbourne-based Transport Engineering Pty Ltd, a leading rail technical services consultancy firm, the firm said.

The move comes as Ricardo plc, through its energy and environment arm, looks to meet greater customer demand in Australia.

“Our global team has assisted Ricardo for a number of years now and it is pleasing to be able to contribute to their growth in Australia,” Mr Davidson said.
