ALS unveils new office
Aboriginal Legal Service (NSW/ACT) has launched its new office in Coffs Harbour.
The ALS office is located on Rose Avenue, operating Monday to Friday, and comes as part of the legal body’s expansion plans for the northern region.
“We are looking forward to starting work from the new permanent Coffs Harbour office, where the demand for ALS’ culturally safe legal services is increasing,” said CEO Karly Warner.
Further, the ALS has also confirmed its new outreach service in Grafton will be located at the New School of Arts Neighbourhood House, corner of Spring and Skinner Streets, South Grafton and will also be operational from August 2019.
“Our board is committed to ensuring we have ALS staff continuing to support local Aboriginal communities across the northern region,” ALS Chairperson Brendan Moyle said.
“While our delivery model has expanded to include our new office in Coffs Harbour, our frontline services won’t change.
“The board remains confident that this expanded service delivery model will achieve a stronger, flexible, and a more efficient organisation while ‘staying true’ to the Aboriginal communities where we live and work.
“We’re here for our mob.”
