Pillsbury Winthrop (International) represented Lion Nathan Limited, as guarantor, and two of its wholly owned subsidiaries, as issuers, in connection with a US$300 ($450) million 4(2) traditional private placement of guaranteed senior notes.
Lion Nathan Limited is an Australian-based alcoholic beverages company with operations in Australia, New Zealand and China. National Australia Bank Ltd and RBS Securities Corporation acted as placement agents.
Pilsbury Winthrop lawyers Angelique Mentis, Bob Meyers and Cécile King worked on the transaction, which closed on 28 August 2003.
Baker & McKenzie advised Radisson Edwardian Hotels in its acquisition of the prestigious five star Intercontinental Mayfair Hotel, London, from Intercontinental Hotels Group. The acquisition has a value of £115 ($278) million.
This acquisition brings Radisson Edwardian Hotels Group’s total number of four and five star hotels in London to eleven.
The Group's portfolio includes the famous Berkshire Hotel, voted ‘Hotel of the Year 1989’ by The Caterer and Hotelkeeper, and the five-star Radisson Edwardian Heathrow Hotel, seven times winner of the Best Airport Hotel in the World and the Leading Conference Hotel in Europe, 2002.
The Mayfair Intercontinental Hotel is located on Stratton Street, Mayfair, London. It was opened in 1927 by King George V and has 290 rooms.
