EY has confirmed it has hired Lisa-Marie McKechnie as partner – financial services law as it looks to continue growing its legal arm.

Ms McKechnie brings 17 years’ experience to the role, having advised across the full range of financial services law, particularly in advising clients in the areas of superannuation and insurance.

Throughout her career, she has advised a wide range of superannuation funds in the retail and industry space and has worked with several key life insurers and reinsurers assisting them with the complex challenges posed by the ever-changing regulatory environment, according to a statement from EY.

“We are delighted to have Lisa-Marie join our expanding financial services law team focused on servicing our financial services clients at this time of significant regulatory change and disruption,” said Michelle Segaert, partner – EY financial services law.

“Lisa-Marie is a rare breed of being both a superannuation and life insurance specialist. Her skills will complement our existing banking and finance regulatory, licensing and investment funds services.”

Commenting on her new role, Ms McKechnie said: “Financial services providers are facing a number of key challenges and there has never been a better time to offer clients the opportunity to access the broader services we have at EY”.

“I am excited to be joining Michelle Segaert and her team, and to have the opportunity to provide multidisciplinary services to clients in an increasingly challenging business environment.”
