Ironbark coal seam gas project bought for $231m

Australian coal seam gas producer Australia Pacific LNG has purchased the Ironbark project from Origin Energy for nearly a quarter of a billion Australian dollars.

Firm: Clayton Utz (Australia Pacific LNG), King & Wood Mallesons (Origin Energy).

Deal: APLNG has purchased the Ironbark coal seam gas project from Origin Energy.

Value: $231 million.

Area: Corporate.

Key players: The Clayton Utz team was led by partner Stuart MacGregor, who was assisted by partner Linda Evans and senior associates Andrew Holmes, Prue Warner and Sunita Kenny.

The KWM team was led by partner Craig Rogers, who was supported by senior associate Adam Black.

Deal significance: In a statement, Clayton Utz said that APLNG will be able to realise value from Ironbark “by utilising its existing nearby gas and water processing infrastructure to efficiently bring the gas to market”.
